This module covers the role of community pharmacy teams in safeguarding children. You should also complete the module Safeguarding Adults.
For the purposes of this module, we shall be defining a child as anyone that has not reached their 18th birthday. You can read more about the definitions of a child on the NSPCC website.
Objectives
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- 1 Describe the type of child who may be at increased risk of abuse.
- 2 Identify the different categories of abuse.
- 3 Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse.
- 4 Explain what you should and should not do if you suspect a child is being abused.
