According to UK Office for National Statistics In 2019, before our lives and travel abilities were halted by the pandemic, 93.1million overseas visits were made by UK travellers alone. Since the pandemic numbers have slowly returned to this level and in 2023 numbers had returned to approximately 90% of pre-pandemic levels. Whilst this figure may not be surprising, it’s far easier for a person's excitement to become clouded by the stress of pre travel arrangements.

Planning a holiday or perhaps an emergency trip isn’t easy and can become very time consuming and due to the lack of convenient and accessible travel clinics, 40% travellers miss out on receiving advice before travelling abroad.

Let’s set the scene, your customer has booked their trip, so now it’s time to start thinking about their health and safety whilst abroad. Your community pharmacy is an ideal location to provide customers with practical advice from sun exposure to road safety.

This pharmacy excellence module will explore how customers can make their journey easier by your community pharmacy becoming a health ‘one stop shop’ to pick up pre travel necessities and advice.
