As we know, among other issues, the NHS is facing an increasingly widening health inequalities gap, caused by social deprivation and people living increasingly unhealthy lifestyles.
This is where your health champion will also play a key role to support HLP accreditation. As a reminder, a health champion:
- Will engage proactively with the public and provide information that will help them to adopt healthier lifestyles.
- Understand what's available locally and can signpost to local health and wellbeing services and national support
- Is responsible for establishing and maintaining the health promotion zone
- Puts in place health promotional activities
- Comes up with ideas on how to reach out to the local community on local health issues
If you are still looking to get a member of staff trained up to become a health champion, Numark have partnered with Buttercups that provide the course. As a Numark member, you will receive a 10% discount off online courses. To find out more and to sign up, please visit the Buttercups website.
