Setting your vision
Once HLP has been introduced to the team, to help set a direction, a suggestion would be set
a vision for HLP, which will enable the team to focus on their initial end goal. It will help steer the whole team in the right direction.
A vision isn’t just words on a poster or a piece of paper, it should be referred to on a regular basis and remind the team of where they want to be once they have been awarded the Level 1 HLP quality mark and maintaining it i.e. continue collecting evidence for your health promotions/outreach events etc.
Setting your vision for Healthy Living Pharmacy
It’s important for the pharmacy team to consider a clear vision for HLP and where they want to take this. Consider:
- Engaging with the team to obtain their view of where they want to be
- What steps do you need to take to reach the end goal
- Consider displaying the vision in the professional area to refer to with the team
Being engaged, taking ownership and having understanding of the bigger picture is important when implementing HLP to ensure that opportunities and outcomes are optimised and barriers to progress are identified before they become an issue.
