There are three main conditions which can which can affect the prostate:
- Enlarged Prostate – this doesn’t usually mean it’s cancerous but is a natural phenomena that occurs as those assigned male at birth get older, so will the prostate. Most commonly affects those assigned male at birth over the age of 50. To read more on enlarged prostate, click here
- Prostatitus – the prostate becomes infected or inflamed and can affect thos assigned male at birth at any age but is most commonly seen between the ages of 30 – 50. To read more on protatitus, click here
- Prostate Cancer – this is the most common cancer found in those assigned male at birth over the age of 65. We will talk about this in the next section of this module.
