module menu icon About Verrucas

Verruca's are caused by a viral infection of the skin and are very common in school aged children.

They are caused by a strain of the human papilloma virus and appear on the ball and the heel of the foot. They can cause some pain and discomfort, especially when pressure is applied.

Verrucas can take a long time to heal, but they do go away on their own.

Verrucas grow inwards and appear as a small area of rough thickened skin, with small black dots visible.
