Looking after a baby who has colic can be a very upsetting time and parents will look for reassurance and support.
You can advise parents to :-
- Hold or cuddle the baby
- Sit or hold your baby upright during feeding them to reduce intake of air
- Wind your baby after feeds
- Gently rock the baby over the shoulder
- Pushing them in their pram or rocking their moses basket/cot
- Give the baby a warm bath
- Use white noise to help distract them
- Keep feeding the baby as normal
- Use anti-colic drops
