You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a parent/baby presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:-

- If the parent is worried about their baby
- If the parent is finding it hard to cope
- If the baby is over 6 months old and still seems to have symptoms of colic
- If the baby is weak or has a high-pitched cry
- If the baby's cry doesn't sound like their normal cry
