Acne is a very common condition that affects the skin. It is very common in teenagers during puberty but it can affect people later in life.

Although treatable, acne can be very difficult for teenagers who are concerned about the way they look and how acne presents.Acne is also associated with significant psychological problems including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and sometimes suicidal thoughts.

Acne causes spots to form on the face, neck, back or chest, and it can vary in severity from mild to severe.

Acne causes different types of spots:-

  • Blackheads - small black or yellow bumps
  • Whiteheads - similar to blackheads by firmer and have a white bump
  • Papules - small red bumps
  • Pustules - small red bumps that have a white tip
  • Nodules - large hard lumps under the skin
  • Cysts - large pus-filled lumps that look similar to boils
