A pharmacist who owns a successful community pharmacy in St.Helens that has an established aesthetics supply business has bolstered his business portfolio after buying a pharmacy in Wigan.
Stuart Ellis, who runs Millenium Pharmacy, completed the purchase of J England Pharmacy (pictured) which, according to Christie & Co who brokered the deal, is “a standard hours, self-contained community pharmacy” that dispenses an average of 17,678 items a month.
J England Pharmacy, which was bought for an undisclosed price and has been situated next to Beech Hill Medical Practice since 1999, was owned by Doug England who established the pharmacy in the early 1960s. The pharmacy has recently been run by his son Warren who sold up having decided to retire.
“I am pleased that the legacy of the pharmacy business that my father founded in the 1960s has been passed on to such a safe pair of hands in the shape of Stuart. I wish him and his team the very greatest of success,” he said.
Jon Booth, director-pharmacy at Christie & Co, said a deal was struck in less than eight weeks “with a committed and credible buyer.”
