Guidance for schools in England on how emergency inhalers should be stored and administered safely has been issued by the Department of Health.

The Welsh, Scottish and Northern Ireland governments have both produced equivalent guidance to support the use of emergency salbutamol inhalers in schools in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively^4,5,6. 

Asthma UK has produced a series of videos demonstrating the use of metered-dose inhalers and spacers which teachers may find useful. These are available on the Asthma UK website.
