Not surprisingly, infant feeding problems often require changes to the infant's diet as part of any management strategy. Where an infant is being bottle-fed the use of specialist infant formulae form an important part of that management. Dietary changes should always be accompanied by practical advice to improve and manage symptoms and the pharmacy team is well-placed to offer this. Often, reassurance, advice and simple dietary changes are sufficient to resolve infant feeding problems. Where these measures are not effective, or the infant is failing to thrive, they should be referred to their GP for further investigation.
