An activity to help the pharmacy professional to reflect and evaluate their practice and learning with a trusted peer, ultimately for the benefit of people using  their services.

It consists of a discussion where the peer’s role is to prompt and ask questions to facilitate an open and honest conversation. They may be performed face-to-face, by phone, webchat or video call, or in a group setting

A peer discussion needs to be:

  • In an environment that makes both parties feel comfortable without any disturbances as typically the discussion will last approximately an hour
  • A valued discussion that provides information, insight into the pharmacy professionals practice, honesty and objectivity
  • A two-way discussion that focuses on continuous learning and improvement rather than performance and assessment.
