According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), anaphylactic reactions to vaccines are 1.31 per one million vaccine doses given. They have the potential to be fatal and can occur in any customer.
Fainting is more common and therefore it is useful to be able to differentiate between the signs and symptoms of both anaphylaxis and fainting.
When a patient is showing signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, a quick response is required and emergency adrenaline will need to be administered.
