There have been over 4.5million cases and over 150,000 deaths1 in the UK due to COVID-19 (true as of 16th June 2021).

The cost of COVID-19 on the NHS is unknown but already we can assume it will be quite drastic, as of July 2020 the UK treasury had provided the NHS with an additional £6.6 billion to support the health services through this time2.

Over 2.6million flu vaccinations were delivered in pharmacies during the 2020/21 flu season3.

The potential savings of vaccinating  against the flu virus have been in the hundreds of millions of pounds each year for the NHS.

There is opportunity to deliver even more flu vaccinations during the 2021/22 flu season, this should prevent further deaths from the flu and should save the NHS even more time and money, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
