The UK is a nation of animal lovers, with the pet population estimated to be 8.5 million dogs and 8 million cats. It’s therefore important for pharmacy teams to gen up on pet health products and advice to pass on to customers.

Objectives

After studying this module, assistants will:

  • Understand what parasites can affect pets
  • Be familiar with some of the commonly used products to be able to recommend their use
  • Understand the supervision requirements when recommending medicines for pets.
