Providing feedback to your team is a critical skill to manage their performance and development.

Do we give feedback all the time? Pretty much! It’s a natural thing, especially out of the workplace. If you are a parent – you will naturally give feedback to your child, or if you a learning a new hobby, your teacher will give you feedback.

Feedback is necessary to help a person to improve. It can divided into 2 types:

  1. Motivational feedback contains praise and encouragement for things that are done well.
  2. Developmental feedback focuses on improvement and development areas. You ask the individual what needs to be improved or further developed, adding possible actions.
