If a customer takes prescription medication it is not only important that they have enough medication for their trip they also need to consider the following:
- Whether the country they are travelling to have restrictions on the types of drugs that can be taken into that country
- How the medication should be transported for example does it need refrigeration
- Will the mode of transport allow medication to be carried in hand luggage e.g. does the airline permit needles in the cabin
- Do they have enough medication is case of delays
Medication should always be labelled and in the original box and it is prudent to carry a copy of your prescription or a letter from your GP in case you are challenged.
For information on transporting medication particularly when flying outside of Europe refer the customer to the pharmacist.
