Contents of a travel first-aid box

This is a basic but absolutely essential part of the suitcase, and this is a perfect opportunity to show the range of travel products you do provide in your pharmacy, providing you an opportunity to link sell. The Numarknet training platform Counter Excellence module Customer Service and Selling Skills has lots of useful selling tips and guidance on link selling to assist with this process. A first-aid box will differ for everyone but a suggestion of what it should contain, medication wise, is shown in the picture below.

On top of these products a quality travel first aid box would contain obvious products such as plasters, dressings, tweezers, gloves, tape, and maybe even less obvious products such as tick removers and or blister plasters.

Top tips

  • Know where your different products are kept.
  • Ensure you have sufficient signs so customers can confidently and easily find these products.
