What should you look for?
There are lots of signs that an adult is being abused but many of them may be difficult to spot unless you see the adult regularly or know them well. There isn’t a comprehensive list of signs of abuse in adults but there are guidelines for specific groups. NICE guideline NG189 has guidance for safeguarding adults in care homes and NICE guidance PH50 has indications for identifying domestic violence and abuse.
