According to the British Heart Foundation (BHF), there are as many as 4 million people within the UK that are living with high blood pressure without knowing they have it1. It’s frightening to know that people may only realise they have high blood pressure when it’s too late.

Pharmacies can play a really important role with helping people identify if they are at risk via a blood pressure service or health promotion; in turn you can help to save a life.

The BHF recommend that people over the age of 40 should get their blood pressure taken as part of a health check which is conducted by a nurse or a doctor. This will also assess their risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
