Sometimes parents may not talk to you directly for advice on potty training or bedwetting, but will still seek information and products within the pharmacy. There are some key methods of engaging the customer at the fixture to help you make the most of the potty training and bedwetting category.
- The potty training process can take time with various stages. Incorporating these stages into your range can be difficult with the space available in pharmacy, but try to ensure you have both day and night options available and where possible, multiple sizing options for different ages.
- Include point of sale at the fixture to help customers determine the right products for them. Information such as the signs your child is ready to begin potty training and the key stages of potty training will be useful for the customer to pick up at the fixture.
- Ensure the fixture is easy to locate and where possible situated in a spacious area. Potty training and bedwetting sit within the baby category and customers browsing this fixture will often have their children with them. It is important the fixture is clearly laid out and easy to find using relevant point of sale and signage and there is space for pushchairs and carriers down the aisles.
- As part of the advice given to parents about potty training, you will want to encourage consistency and advise parents to avoid switching back to nappies. This should also be portrayed in the pharmacy merchandising. Ensure there is a clear definition between nappies and potty training by merchandising on a new shelf or at the start of a new bay.
