Physical and mental health should go hand in hand, but often people find it far easier to talk about the symptoms of physical health rather than mental health.

Poor physical health can lead to an increased risk of developing mental health problems and similarly poor mental health can have a negative impact on physical health.

When Coronavirus made its appearance, the lockdowns and restrictions would have caused stress and anxiety for many. Even though restrictions have eased across the nations of the UK, many people will be faced with both challenges and opportunities. With the current social distancing measures in place, we may be able to see family and friends in person and return to work but for many others, these changes will be difficult and quite worrying for those living with mental health problems.

The stigma surrounding mental health will make people feel scared and ashamed by talking about it, however there are many charities, NHS campaigns and of media coverage which are focused on trying to break down this barrier.
