Community pharmacies have been providing flu vaccinations for many years.

The aim of the service is to help provide protection from the various strains of the flu virus circulating during the year. An NHS service is offered to provide protection to those at a higher risk of complications and those supporting vulnerable groups. A private service is also offered. Therefore, the whole population has access to the service, whether paying or receiving it for free.

The whole pharmacy team play a crucial role to highlight and raise awareness of the importance of getting vaccinated against the flu virus, including knowing the eligibility criteria for both NHS and private flu service.
