Each year around 50,000 vans are stole and only 2 out of 5 are recovered. Therefore all possible protection against theft is essential. Whenever you leave your vehicle unattended, including when making a delivery, you must remove the ignition key and ensure all doors and windows are locked.
When parking vehicles, make sure it is parked in a safe and well-lit area and avoid any secluded areas. The vehicle must be left empty overnight and all undelivered prescriptions should be removed from the vehicle at the end of the working day.
All prescriptions should be carried in the rear of the vehicle and should not be carried on the front passenger seat, glove compartment or in the drivers cab. Remember that personal details need to be kept confidential as part of GDPR so names, addresses etc should not be visible to passers by especially when the vehicle is parked.
