As a delivery driver you will build relationships with your customers, especially those that you see on a regular basis.

It is important to understand the limitations of your role as a delivery driver, as you shouldn't be completing tasks outside of your role. You may be the only person that the customer sees that week, they may be lonely or have no other support network around them so it can be easy to want to help them.

You will have many deliveries to complete within the day and time may not allow for you to spend too long with each customer so it is advisable to avoid carrying out additional tasks for them.

Try to avoid tasks such as carrying out admin tasks or any household jobs for the patient. It may acceptable to make them a cup of tea but this will be at the discretion of the pharmacy manager.

If you have any concerns for the welfare of a customer then you should raise this with the pharmacist who can make a referral to the appropriate agencies.
