What is Dementia?

Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life.

Each individual experiences dementia in their own way, with each person displaying different symptoms.

Counter assistants should be alert to regular patients who may start to show the early signs of dementia, as early diagnosis is important to enable patients to get the right help and treatment. Early diagnosis also provides patients and their families time to make decisions and plans for the future.
