Excessive drinking can have an impact on mental health, increasing a person’s risk of developing conditions such as depression, anxiety and dementia to name a few.

Alcohol is a depressant, meaning it slows down your central nervous system, which can affect thoughts, feelings and actions and in some cases it can affect long term mental health.

There are some key warning signs that alcohol is affecting your mood which includes:-

  • Poor sleep after drinking
  • Feeling tired because of a hangover
