You can recruit people for this service over the age of 18 however, it is ideal to recruit those who fit in the at risk group so ensure you know the inclusion criteria. This information can be found in the staff workbook from the Cholesterol Screening Service toolkit which you download from our pages. This toolkit will feature a number of tools to help you deliver the service from Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to downloading free marketing materials to help you promote the service.

There are a number of ways you can recruit patients to your cholesterol screening service including self-referrals, referral via other healthcare professionals such as a GP or nurse, recruitment via other services. You can also recruit via a health promotion (see the next section of this module).
