module menu icon Treatment of psoriasis

There is no cure for psoriasis but people can live well with the right treatment and management. It is thought that treatment will not be as effective for a person who is obese and/or smokes therefore encouraging being a healthy weight and quitting smoking can be beneficial.

Psoriasis will affect people differently and treatment will be on a trial and error basis, which may bring a person down and less motivated to use the treatment.

There are various treatment options available to customers and it does depend on the type of psoriasis they have. There is a wide selection of OTC treatment you could recommend so it’s important to:

  • Check what other treatment the customer has tried (use WWHAM questions), have they had any success using a certain product?
  • Know what you sell – update your product knowledge
  • Think about the features and benefits of products when talking to your customers so they can make an informed choice. Read further on features and benefits
