- First aid – in the know - take a read of our advice and guidance on the range of products you can stock in your pharmacy and access planograms to help you create a well merchandised first aid category.
- Visit our E-shop - to look at the different product ranges available to support your first aid displays.
- The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents - to access accident statistics.
- Don’t forget: When speaking to customers about minor injuries, it will present you with an opportunity to promote other services, such as the minor ailments service you may already provide in pharmacy.
- Consider keeping a minor injury log in pharmacy: In your role you are best placed to spot patterns of injuries in certain customers such as name, date, location of injury, how it happened and treatments you recommended. In line with GDPR, do ensure you do not write down any personal information that would be identifiable to that person e.g. address, age etc. It would be appropriate to keep these details in a notebook in the safe haven (dispensary) or use a diary.
- Signposting - Ensure you have details available to signpost your customers to places for onward help i.e. local walk in centre, A&E etc.
