Part 2 of this module will now cover physical activity.
Acccording to GOV.UK, physical inactivity is responsible for one in six deaths and estimated to cost the UK £7.4 billion annually. They state the population is around 20% less active than in the 1960s and if current trends continue, it will be 35% less active by the year 2030.1
This means that those that are less active are at an increased risk of developing heart and circulatory disease as well as premature death. But what is even more of a growing concern is that children are the least active generation.
It’s important to promote staying physically active whilst trying to maintain a healthy weight, not only does it do good for your health but works wonders for boosting mood and unwinding from stress.
