What is allergy?
Allergy is a word used to describe the reaction from the body in response to a particular food or substance. Allergies are very common, particularly in children. Some may go away as the child ages, but others may be lifelong.
Allergies can interfere with daily activities, although most are mild and easily managed. If an allergic reaction does become severe it can be harder to treat, although this is rarer.
