module menu icon When should you refer to the Pharmacist?

If a customer reports any of the following symptoms you should refer them to the pharmacist:-

  • Green, yellow or brown mucus/phlegm
  • Coughing up blood
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath or wheezing
  • A cough that has lasted for more than three weeks
  • A cough that is worse first thing in the morning, at night or after excercising
  • Unexplained weight loss.

This is not an exhaustive list and you should speak with your pharmacist to find out if there is anyone else they would like you to refer.
