You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a patient presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:-
- This is the first instance of thrush they have had
- The patient has had 2 or more attacks in the last 6 months
- Abnormal or irregular bleeding
- Symptoms are no better after 7 days of treatment
- Pregnant or suspected pregnancy
- Sores, ulcers or blisters on the vulva or vagina
- History of STD's
- Patients under 16 or over 60 years of age
