You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a customer presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:

  • If sensitivity is caused by a cracked or broken tooth
  • Pain relief isn’t working effectively
  • Bleeding, swollen, sore and red gums. This can be a sign of gum disease
  • Recurrent mouth ulcers, particular those that take a long time to heal as this may be due to an underlying health condition.
