Ringworm can be treated with an topical anti-fungal treatment, which is usually a cream.  This could be a cream, gel or spray depending on where the rash is located.

Anti-fungal medicines should be used as directed, everyday.

You should advise patients to:-

• Start treatment as soon as possible
• Wash towels and bed linen regularly
• Keep the skin clean and wash hands after touching animals or soil
• Don't share towels, combs and bed linen
• Avoid scratching the rash to avoid spreading it to other areas of the body or introducing other infections.
