You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a patient presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:-

If the skin is broken in the affected area
If the rash is severe
If there are any signs of infection
If the rash affects any other part of the body
If the symptoms are not relieved within 5 days of using preventative measures.
