You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a patient presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:- 

  • Hot, painful and swollen skin
  • Fever and vomiting
  • A red spot that is getting larger in size and spreading
  • Anyone with a known allergy to bites and stings
