Red Flag Symptoms

You need to be aware of the following red flag symptoms. If a patient presents with any of the below they should be referred to the pharmacist:-

If there is evidence of an infection (warmth, redness, weeping, crusting or spreading of the rash)
Concurrent cold sore or contact with an infected person
Severe symptoms such as bleeding, severe cracks/fissures
No relief from any medication
No identifiable cause of the rash
Symptoms lasting for more the 2 weeks
