Constipation refers to bowel movements that are hard to pass or infrequent and it commonly affects people of all ages.

Although constipation is not usually serious it can make you feel lethargic and once cleared up it can make you feel a lot better in yourself.

Bowel movements vary for each individual and some people go several times a day where as others go a few times in a week.

Usually not having a bowel movement for 3 or more days is usually too long and stools get harder to and more difficult to pass.

Patients may have a variety of symptoms which can include:-

  • Few bowel movements
  • Straining to go to the toilet
  • Hard or small stools
  • Bloating
  • Stomach cramps
