A chesty cough is most commonly associated with colds and flu and they are usually mild and self-limiting.

A cough is a reflex action to clear your airways of mucus and irritants.  A chesty cough means phlegm is produced to help clear your airways.

They can last up to three weeks on its own.

Coughs could also be caused by smoking, heartburn, allergies and bronchitis, however this module covers those caused by cold and flu.
