There are some lifestyle changes that people can try to improve symptoms such as:
- Lifestyle changes - such as losing weight and cutting down on caffeine and alcohol
- Pelvic floor exercises - exercising the pelvic floor muscles by squeezing them
- Bladder training - where you learn ways to wait longer between needing to urinate and passing urine (with a specialist's advice)
Patients may also benefit from using incontinence products.
For serious cases, the patients' GP may supply medication or refer them to a specialist for surgery.
