The Community Pharmacy Contract
Framework (CPCF) introduced the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) as part of the change in direction for community pharmacy services, recognising and promoting the clinical contribution that pharmacists can make.
This is the first clinical service to be mobilised as part of the framework and will use the knowledge and skills of the pharmacist to reduce pressures on GP services and A&E departments by formally integrating community pharmacy into the urgent care system.
Pharmacists will deliver this service personally but in order for it to succeed the whole pharmacy team must work in different ways to allow pharmacists the time to deliver it.
Learning objectives
- Understand the CPCS
- Describe how to implement and deliver the CPCS successfully
- Plan how your pharmacy needs to transform to deliver the CPCS service as it expands.
