A pharmacy in Inverness has put emergency measures into place to help it continue dispensing prescriptions the day after a car crashed into it.
Lochardil Pharmacy and Travel Clinic, which is situated in the west of the city, was forced to close yesterday afternoon (Wednesday January 22) after a car crashed through the front of the store, coming to a stop inside the shop.
According to local media reports the driver was taken to hospital but there were no other injuries.
Posting on Facebook yesterday, Lochardil Pharmacy said: “We are relieved to confirm that all staff members are safe and unharmed.
“As we work to resolve the matter, we plan to reopen tomorrow with a reduced pharmacy service.
“We will continue to operate during our normal working hours, providing a prescription only service from the door located to the rear of the pharmacy. This will facilitate the continued supply of prescriptions.”
The pharmacy added that its 24/7 collection point will be “available as always” and that delivery drivers “will continue their normal service”.
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said: “We received a call at 14:17 today to attend an incident on Movern Road in Inverness.
“We dispatched a number of resources to the scene, our first arriving within five minutes, and transported one female patient in her 60s to Raigmore Hospital.”
