Saraj Pharmacy & Post Office in Loughbourough has been sold to a pair of brothers expanding their reach in the East Midlands region, property broker Christie & Co has said.
Rahul and Anup Patel, who now own 14 pharmacies in the region, bought the business from Saraj Patel, who has owned it for over 40 years and plans to retire.
The business is a standard hours pharmacy dispensing an average of 7,300 items each month alongside a Post Office business with three counters. It was sold through a confidential sales process after “very high levels of interest and offers,” said Christie & Co.
Christie & Co director Carl Steer said: “The sale is in many ways a perfect example of the Leicester market in that despite the challenges generally being seen across the sector, buyers are as keen as ever to secure profitable pharmacies across the county.
“A lack of pharmacies for sale and a growing number of buyers looks to ensure this picture is maintained for the foreseeable future.”
